“FOUR” Becomes One Direction’s 4th Album to Top 1 Million US Sales Mark

One Direction (CBS)

One Direction’s “FOUR” was – you guessed it – the boy band’s fourth studio album.

This past week, it became the group’s fourth to join the million sales club in the United States.

According to Nielsen Music, “FOUR” generated a US sales total of approximately 4,000 during the July 31-August 6 tracking week. That brought its cumulative US sales total past the 1 million mark.

In crossing one million, “FOUR” joins a club that had already been occupied by 2011’s “Up All Night,” 2012’s “Take Me Home” and 2013’s “Midnight Memories.”

The respective albums boast US sales totals of 2.05 million, 2.02 million and 1.51 million.

“FOUR” was released on November 17, 2014. Approximately 188,000 of its million-plus US copies were sold in 2015.
