Ratings: “True Detective” Finale Viewership Drops 22% From Last Year

While this week’s “True Detective” season finale was the most-watched episode since the season’s second episode, it markedly trailed last year’s final episode.

Sunday’s 90-minute closer drew a 1.2 adults 18-49 rating with 2.73 million viewers. Up considerably from last week’s broadcast, which drew a 1.0 rating with 2.18 million viewers, it could not match the numbers delivered by the season one finale.

That episode, which aired on March 9, 2014, drew a 1.6 with 3.52 million viewers. It remains the most-watched “True Detective” to date.
