Bastille’s blockbuster single “Pompeii,” which recently went double platinum in the UK, has also reached a new certification threshold in the US.

According to the RIAA, the song earned a 5x platinum certification on July 27, 2015. Under the terms of the RIAA’s digital singles program, the 5X distinction signifies a US unit total in excess of 5 million.

One unit is equal to 1 paid download or 100 streams.

“Pompeii” also retroactively received a 4x platinum label.

July 27, 2015 also brought forth good news for Bastille’s album “Bad Blood.” The album has officially been certified gold in the United States.

A gold album certification confirms a shipment total of at least 500,000.
