Alessia Cara’s “Here” Enjoys Sales Boost Following “Tonight Show” Performance

When Wednesday’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” took the air, Alessia Cara’s “Here” was positioned outside the Top 100 on the all-genre iTunes sales chart.

In a sign that Cara’s strong “Tonight Show” performance resonated with viewers, “Here” has enjoyed a significant lift since the broadcast came to a conclusion.

The song had risen to #70 by the time the west coast version of the show aired. By Thursday at 9AM ET, it was knocking on the door of the Top 50.

“Here” is currently #52 on the all-genre single sales chart.

While the jump is not a record-setting one, it exceeds what is guaranteed for a “Tonight Show” performer. It is particularly impressive in this context; Cara had little mainstream familiarity upon taking the “Tonight Show” stage, and her song is only just beginning to gain a presence at radio.

“Here” is already coming off its best sales week to date: it drove 9K paid US downloads during the July 17-23 tracking week.
