Zayn Malik Reveals Why He Left One Direction, Says He’ll Make “Real Music” With RCA

Zayn Malik’s Twitter candor has made waves in recent weeks, and today’s series of Tweets will doubtfully be an exception.

In a series of posts, the artist confirmed that he has signed a record deal with RCA. He also offered some commentary on why he left One Direction to embark on a solo journey.

“I guess I never explained why I left , it was for this moment to be given the opportunity to show you who i really am,” wrote Malik. He notably punctuated the Tweet with “#realmusic.”

In a later Tweet, he shared the hashtag “#realme.”

Following months worth of rumors, Malik officially departed One Direction on March 25. The four remaining members plan to release new music soon.
