Shinedown [Atlantic]

Despite suffering a weekly airplay loss, Theory of a Deadman’s “Angel” edges Breaking Benjamin’s “Failure” for #1 on this week’s Mediabase active rock radio airplay chart.

Spun 1,793 times during the June 28-July 4 tracking week (-71), the song rises one place to the peak of the listing. “Failure,” which spent eight weeks at #1, slips to #2. It received 1,790 weekly plays (-147).

Royal Blood’s “Little Monster” holds at #3 this week (1,717 spins, +73), while Halestorm’s “Amen” rises one place to #4 (1,487, +33). Up two places, Nothing More’s “Jenny” reaches a new peak of #5. Its position is attributable to its 1,268 weekly spins (+13).

Benefiting from early enthusiasm and promotional spins from iHeartMedia, Shinedown’s new “Cut the Cord” ranks as the week’s greatest gainer and highest-charting debut. Spun 940 times during the tracking week, it starts at #12.
