Silento’s “Watch Me” Officially Goes Gold

Silento [Watch Me Cover]

Silento’s viral sensation “Watch Me” has officially been certified gold under the RIAA’s Digital Singles program.

First announced by Capitol Music Group, the certification confirms that “Watch Me” has shifted at least 500,000 units in the United States.

While the song’s current US sales total is in the neighborhood of 360,000, a unit is equal to either a paid download or 100 streams. The song’s blockbuster streaming performance allowed it to easily make up the remaining ground.

Since launching in late January, the audio-only video has amassed more than 35.5 million views. The audio has also inspired many Vine, Instagram and YouTube videos from fans and celebrities.

An official video is due shortly.

“Watch Me” is currently at a peak of #19 on the Hot 100.
