Muse’s “Dead Inside” Stays #1 at Alternative; Breaking Benjamin’s “Failure” Still Tops Rock

Muse’s “Dead Inside” and Breaking Benjamin’s “Failure” score third straight stints atop the Mediabase alternative and active rock airplay charts, respectively.

“Dead Inside” remains alternative’s #1 song on the strength of its ~2,705 tracking week spins. Death Cab for Cutie’s “Black Sun,” which holds in the #2 spot, received a considerably lesser spin count of ~2,338.

AWOLNATION’s “Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf)” (#3, ~1,958), X Ambassador’s “Renegades” (#4, ~1,858) and Mumford & Sons’ “Believe” (#5, ~1,837) complete the top five.

“Renegades,” which was #9 last week, is making its first appearance in the alternative radio top five.

“Failure,” meanwhile, retains the active rock crown on the strength of its ~2,105 weekly spins. Zac Brown Band’s former #1 “Heavy is the Head (featuring Chris Cornell)” follows at #2 (~1,835).

Theory of a Deadman’s “Angel” (#3, ~1,372), Royal Blood’s “Little Monster” (#4, ~1,368) and Slash’s “Bent to Fly” (#5, ~1,337) complete the fop five.

Up two places this week, “Little Monster” is new to the active rock top five.
