Ratings: “American Idol” Hits Series Low for Performance Finale (Updated)

Update: According to final broadcast data, Tuesday’s “American Idol,” which was the final performance show of the fourteenth season, drew a 1.3 adults 18-49 rating with 5.55 million viewers.

Both marks are the lowest ever drawn by an original “Idol” episode.

Tuesday’s “American Idol,” which was the final performance show of the fourteenth season, was the series’ lowest-rated and least-watched original edition ever.

Per fast national data, Tuesday’s episode drew a mere 1.2 adults 18-49 rating with 5.49 million viewers in the 9-10PM hour.

While an upward adjustment might come in the finals, it will doubtfully elevate this week’s performance from its series low level. Posted by the April 8 episode, the previous low mark included a comfortably stronger 1.4 adults 18-49 rating with 6.58 million viewers.

Last Wednesday’s performance/results hybrid drew a 1.4 with 6.93 million viewers.
