Ed Sheeran Premieres “Photograph” Music Video; Song Impacts Radio This Week

Several weeks ago, Ed Sheeran confirmed “Photograph” as the next official single from his hit album “x.” Insofar as it is serving as the follow-up to “Thinking Out Loud,” which was the biggest hit of his career, it enters the market with very lofty standards.

The song officially impacts US hot adult contemporary on Monday, May 11. It goes for pop radio adds the following day. In advance of that radio push, the singer-songwriter has shared the music video.

The video, which debuted Saturday evening, is comprised of Sheeran’s actual home movies. Spanning from his days as a baby to his ascent into worldwide superstardom, the video offers a charming, accessible interpretation of the song.

Its sentimentality will surely resonate with Sheeran’s legion of global fans — and anyone who has fond memories of growing up. The question now shifts to whether it will help turn “Photograph” into a blockbuster hit in the vein of predecessors “Thinking Out Loud” and “Don’t.”
