First-Year Series “Stalker,” “The McCarthys” Cancelled By CBS

“Battle Creek” was not the only CBS freshman to feel the swing of the ax Friday.

News has emerged that The Eye has also opted against renewing comedy “The McCarthys” and drama “Stalker.”

The former, which failed to ignite interest in its post-“Two and a Half Men” timeslot, was already perceived as dead by many within the industry. Friday’s report makes the perception official.

A longshot for renewal based on its Wednesday numbers, “Stalker” received a chance to prove itself in a new timeslot this past Monday. In delivering a soft 1.3 adults 18-49 rating and a series low viewership total of 5.70 million, it did not achieve its objective.
