Muse’s “Dead Inside” Erupts as Alternative’s Most Added Song

Muse’s brand new “Dead Inside” is predictably off to a very lively start at alternative radio.

According to Mediabase, the first official single from the brand’s forthcoming album “Drones” received adds from 34 monitored alternative stations this week. That count easily positions the song as the format’s most added.

News of the impressive adds count comes as the song begins to make what will likely be a swift run up the airplay chart. “Dead Inside” appeared at #41 on Tuesday’s rolling alternative airplay chart, and it will almost certainly join the top 40 on Wednesday.

If it does so, it will become the second Muse release to join the fray this month. Indicative of radio’s interest in any new Muse, promotional single “Psycho” received enough airplay to debut at #38 on this weekend’s official airplay chart.

As far as this week’s add board goes, other notable performers include Of Monsters and Men’s “Crystals” (2nd-most added, 16 adds), Breaking Benjamin’s “Failure” (3rd-most added, tie, 6 adds), Meg Myers’ “Sorry” (3rd-most added, tie, 6 adds), BØRNS’ “Electric Love” (5th-most added, tie, 5 adds) and Wolf Alice’s “Moaning Lisa Smile” (5th-most added, tie, 5 adds).
