Modest Mouse Pacing for 65-70K Sales; Marina & The Diamonds Set for 40K+

On pace to move at least 300,000 traditional copies this week, Kendrick Lamar’s new “To Pimp a Butterfly” is absolutely dominating the album sales discussion.

It is not, however, the only new album worth discussing.

They have no chance of competing for #1, but several buzzworthy new releases will claim solid positions on next week’s Billboard Top Album Sales and Billboard 200 charts.

Leading the way among non-Kendrick releases is Modest Mouse’s “Strangers to Ourselves.” According to Hits Daily Double, the alternative act’s new album is on track to move 65-70,000 pure copies in its inaugural week. With Track Equivalent Albums (10 single sales = 1 album sale) and Streaming Equivalent Albums (1500 single streams = 1 album sale) included, its consumption total could reach 70-75,000.

Marina & The Diamonds’ “FROOT” is also on the radar. Fronted by a lengthy “Froot of the Month” pre-order campaign, the album will debut with 40-45,000 pure sales and 45-50,000 total consumption units.

Sleeping with Sirens’ “Madness” (~35-40,000 sales, 40-45,000 units) and AWOLNATION’s “Run” (~30-35,000 sales, 35-40,000 units) will also debut on next week’s charts.
