Kelly Clarkson’s “Heartbeat Song” Goes Top 10 at Hot AC Radio

While Kelly Clarkson’s “Heartbeat Song” has not performed dominantly at the pop radio format, it has enjoyed a solid run at hot adult contemporary radio.

That run continues with an ascent into the format’s Top 10 this week.

According to Mediabase, “Heartbeat Song” rises to #10 on the strength of the 3,711 Hot AC spins it received during the February 22-28 tracking week. That spin count, which bests last week’s total by 190 plays, facilitates a three position rise on the weekly airplay chart.

Though not necessarily a lead-off home run for the “Piece by Piece” album, single “Heartbeat Song” can at least claim that it entered impressive territory on what has arguably become the core radio format for Clarkson.

As for the pop airplay chart, the song continues to add spins but also continues to operate at a more modest position than it does on the Hot AC listing. Thanks to its 4,195 pop spins (+240), it holds at #21 on this week’s edition of the pop airplay chart.

— Fall Out Boy’s “Centuries” also goes Top 10 at Hot AC this week. It rises three places to #9 on the strength of its 3,936 weekly spins.
