Ratings: “Glee” Viewership Slips for “Child Star” Episode

Going into Friday’s episode, FOX’s “Glee” had registered six consecutive viewership marks beneath the 2 million mark. Across the more than one hundred episodes that aired prior to this sixth and final season, episodic viewership had only fallen below that threshold once.

If last week’s wedding episode could not bring the show’s viewership mark over the two million mark, did this week’s considerably lower-key “Child Star” possess any chance of doing so? Did it possess any chance of escaping the season six ratings prison?

Obviously not. And it obviously did not manage to do so.

According to fast national data, Friday’s “Glee” matched last week’s 0.6 adults 18-49 rating but drew a reduced viewership average of 1.67 million. The second-weakest viewership average on record, the number only bests the 1.58 million drawn on February 6.

— FOX led into “Glee” with “World’s Funniest Fails” (0.8, 2.84 million).

Glee Sixth Season Ratings Trajectory:
(Episode Date – Adults 18-49 rating – Total Viewership)
February 27 – 0.6 – 1.67M
February 20 – 0.6 – 1.86M
February 13 – 0.6 – 1.81M
February 6 – 0.5 – 1.58M
January 30 – 0.7 – 1.85M
January 23 – 0.7 – 1.82M
January 16 – 0.7 – 1.98M
January 9 (average of two episodes) – 0.7 – 2.34M
