Taylor Swift’s “Style” Becomes One of Pop Radio’s 5 Most-Played Songs

Taylor Swift’s seventeenth top ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100 is now one of the five most-played songs at pop radio.

According to Mediabase, the song received 11,457 pop format spins during the seven days between February 12 and 18. That ranks as the period’s fifth-largest play count for a pop song.

Only Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk (featuring Bruno Mars)” (18,243), Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” (16,900), Hozier’s “Take Me to Church” (14,034) and Meghan Trainor’s “Lips are Movin” (13,217) received more airplay with the aforementioned seven day window.

By besting last week’s spin count by 2,389, “Style” also represents the format’s greatest week-over-week airplay gainer.

Given the manner in which it is rising, “Style” is a lock to retain its Top 5 position through the issuance of Mediabase’s official airplay chart Sunday evening. By then, it will have also ascended into the top 10 of the hot adult contemporary airplay chart (it is currently that format’s 12th-most-played song).
