Missy Elliott’s Super Bowl Singles Claim 220K Weekly Sales

Missy Elliott - Atlantic Records

The three Missy Elliott songs showcased during the February 1 Super Bowl Halftime Show were responsible for a total of 220,000 weekly sales.

“Work It,” the most successful of the three singles, commanded 83,000 paid downloads during the week following the big game. That tally earns the song a #9 position on the latest edition of Billboard’s Digital Songs chart.

“Get Ur Freak On” grabs the #14 slot with 78,000 weekly sales, while “Lose Control (featuring Ciara and Fat Man Scoop)” lands at #18 on the strength of its 59,000 paid post-Super Bowl week downloads.

Thanks to their strong sales totals, “Work It” and “Get Ur Freak On” also commanded enough chart points to return to the all-encompassing Billboard Hot 100. “Work It” slides into the #35 slot this week, while “Get Ur Freak On” re-enters at #40.

According to Billboard, the other singles from Elliott’s discography commanded a combined sales total of 52,000 during the most recent tracking week. She, meanwhile, moved a total of 8,000 full albums this week.
