Taylor Swift’s “Style” Becomes One of Pop’s 15 Most-Played Songs

While several songs enjoyed bigger weeks at pop radio, Taylor Swift’s “Style” performed well enough to pass a new checkpoint on the airplay chart.

According to Mediabase’s latest rolling chart, “Style” commanded 5,857 spins during the week between January 24 and January 30. It was pop’s 15th-most-played song during that window.

Insofar as “Style” is adding at least 200 spins to its weekly airplay total each day, the song is a lock to remain in the top 15 through Sunday evening. At that point, Mediabase’s official airplay chart will emerge to confirm the song’s top 15 position.

That news will come more than a full week before “Style” officially impacts the pop radio format.

Like predecessors “Shake it Off” and “Blank Space,” “Style” is also scoring with hot adult contemporary programmers. It is currently #19 on that format’s rolling chart.

— Greater pop airplay gainers this week include Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney’s “FourFiveSeconds,” Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud,” Maroon 5’s “Sugar” and Meghan Trainor’s “Lips are Movin.”
