Fifth Harmony’s “Sledgehammer” is One of Hot AC’s 40 Most-Played

Ten days remain until Fifth Harmony releases its debut album “Reflection.” As that date draws near, single “Sledgehammer” is beginning to make moves at a second radio format.

“Sledgehammer,” which has already established itself as a top 20 hit at pop radio, is now one of the 40 most-played songs at hot adult contemporary radio.

Thanks to the 291 spins it commanded between January 17 and 23, the Fifth Harmony single grabs the #39 slot on the rolling edition of Mediabase’s hot adult contemporary airplay chart.

Facing no imminent threat to its status, “Sledgehammer” is expected to hold its position through Sunday evening and thus be crowned a Top 40 song on Mediabase’s official hot adult contemporary airplay chart.

Priory’s “Weekend” (#40 on the rolling chart) is also set to become an official member of the Top 40 this week.

For “Sledgehammer,” the rise at hot AC comes as the song endures a slowdown at pop radio. Despite recently scoring pickups from major market stations like New York’s Z100 and Los Angeles’ KIIS, “Sledgehammer” currently remains stagnate in the bottom portion of the top 20.
