Kelly Clarkson Opens at #37 on Hot 100; Zac Brown Band Debuts in Top 50

Everything–sales, streaming and airplay–came together beautifully for Maroon 5’s new single “Sugar,” and the result shows on the Billboard Hot 100. It starts at #8 on the all-encompassing listing.

While no fellow newcomer made that sort of splash, others did score solid debuts.

The next strongest start came from Kelly Clarkson’s “Heartbeat Song,” which begins its run at #37. The track is her first Top 40 hit since 2012’s “Catch My Breath.”

Zac Brown Band’s “Homegrown,” which was this past week’s best-selling country song, also starts decently on the Hot 100. It opens at #48.

Other debuts:

Fall Out Boy’s “Uma Thurman” enters the fray at #73, Common & John Legend’s “Glory” starts at #92, Dierks Bentley’s “Say You Do” begins at #96 and Wale’s “The Body (featuring Jeremih)” is good for a #98 bow.
