Meghan Trainor’s “Title” to Win Album Sales Race; Early Forecast is Massive

It is already #1 on iTunes, but Meghan Trainor’s debut studio album “Title” is not simply going to settle for the crown at one retailer. It is also on track to dominate the overall album sales race.

Per very preliminary Hits Daily Double forecasts, the album’s opening week sales count is expected to exceed 150,000. And insofar as buzz is likely to continue swelling, “Title” stands a chance of markedly topping that forecast when all is said and done.

No other album–new or old–is expected to produce a comparable sales total this week.

The success is reminiscent of that achieved by Kesha’s “Animal” in 2010. Similarly held until January, that album debuted atop the Billboard 200 with sales of 152,000.

Like “Title” track “All About That Bass,” “Animal” entered the market with support from a monster hit single in “Tik Tok.”

As of press time (ten minutes before the commence of the album’s official release day), the deluxe edition of “Title” was already up to #1 on the iTunes album sales chart. The standard issue was #5.
