Ratings: VH1’s “Hindsight” Starts Softly

Cue a joke about how hindsight would have told VH1 to promote its new scripted original differently.

“Hindsight,” which follows Becca (Laura Ramsey) as she warps back to the 1990s in an attempt to correct mistakes that led to her unsatisfying life, underwhelmed in the ratings Wednesday.

The 10PM premiere, which led out of “Mob Wives,” drew a 0.2 adults 18-49 rating with 367,000 viewers. “Wives” delivered a 0.5 rating and 1.059 million total viewers in the preceding hour.

While the performance was not necessarily bad by VH1’s standards for the timeslot, it certainly did not reflect immense interest in the offering.

The low retention rate, meanwhile, speaks unfavorably about the compatibility between “Mob Wives” and “Hindsight.” Of course, insofar as “Hindsight” is a unique offering for the network, it is not as if there was an irrefutably better lead-in selection.
