Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” is #1 at Pop, Hot AC; “Shake it Off” Leads AC

2014 might have been dubbed “The Year of Taylor Swift,” but her 2015 is not exactly off to a bad start.

Mediabase just issued its first official airplay updates of the year, and three formats feature a Swift song at the top of their charts.

Swift’s latest single “Blank Space” continues to rule over the pop and hot adult contemporary listings. On pop, Swift’s song holds #1 courtesy the 17,076 spins (-362) it received during the December 28-January 3 tracking period.

The song’s Hot AC victory comes on the strength of 6,407 weekly spins. The song’s week-over-week gain of 469 spins ranks as the format’s greatest.

No longer focusing on holiday music, the adult contemporary format welcomes Swift’s lead “1989” single “Shake it Off” back to the number one position. The song, which led prior to the holiday season, returns to #1 on the strength of 2,497 weekly plays. The song’s week-over-week gain of 1,548 is the greatest at adult contemporary.

Swift also appears on the adult contemporary chart courtesy “Blank Space,” which claims the format’s #9 position (it is also on the rhythmic chart at #17). In addition to ruling Hot AC, “Shake it Off” is #15 at pop and #10 at Hot AC.
