Foo Fighters’ “Something from Nothing” Still #1 at Alt, Cage the Elephant Hits #5

Its reign at active rock might be over, but Foo Fighters’ “Something from Nothing” remains the #1 song on Mediabase’s official alternative/modern rock airplay chart.

Despite losing spins this week, “Something” holds at #1 on the strength of the 2,797 spins it received during the December 7-13 tracking week. That gave it a comfortable edge over Hozier’s #2 “Take Me to Church,” which commanded 2,412 spins during the tracking period.

Milky Chance’s former multi-week #1 “Stolen Dance” holds at #3 courtesy the 2,361 weekly spins it received, while Imagine Dragons’ “I Bet My Life” improves its top five positioning by rising to #4. It received 1,928 spins during the seven-day tracking period.

New to the top five this week is Cage the Elephant’s “Cigarette Daydreams.” Up one place this week, it reaches #5 on the strength of its 1,922 weekly spins.
