For the first time since 2006–and only the second time since the chart debuted in 1990–a female duo claims the #1 position on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart with a debut single.

Already the confirmed #1 on Mediabase’s country chart, Maddie & Tae’s breakthrough hit “Girl in a Country Song” storms to #1 on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart this week.

The first number one by any female act since 2012, “Girl in a Country Song” is the first chart-topper by a debuting female duo since The Wreckers’ “Leave the Pieces” hit #1 in 2006.

Other notable movers on the chart this week:

— Luke Bryan’s “I See You” rises to #13 on the strength of the week’s greatest airplay gain.
— Katie Armiger’s “One Night Between Friends” reaches #60.
