The Voice’s Matt McAndrew, Taylor John, Damien Win iTunes Bonuses (Updated)

Update 3: The voting deadline has arrived, and with it comes news that three “The Voice” contestants received iTunes multiplier bonuses this week.

With songs positioned at #2, #6 and #7, respectively, Matt McAndrew, Taylor John Williams and Damien all carved out positions in the top ten and thus secured themselves iTunes vote bonuses.

At the close of voting, Tuesday’s Top 8 “The Voice” recordings were positioned as follows:

2 – The Blower’s Daughter – Matt McAndrew – Team Adam
6 – Royals – Taylor John Williams – Team Gwen
7 – Someone Like You – Damien – Team Adam

12 – Sexual Healing – Chris Jamison – Team Adam
14 – Take it Easy – Craig Wayne Boyd – Team Blake
39 – These Dreams – DaNica Shirey – Team Pharrell
52 – Open Arms – Ryan Sill – Team Gwen
57 – Holding Back the Years – Luke Wade – Team Pharrell

Update 2: Add Taylor John Williams’ “Royals” to the list of “The Voice” songs set to receive an iTunes multiplier bonus this week.

By mid-morning Tuesday, “Royals” had joined Matt McAndrew’s “The Blower’s Daughter” and Damien’s “Someone Like You” in the top ten on the all-genre iTunes singles chart.  Assuming it holds there through the close of voting at 12PM ET–and it almost surely will–it will subject Williams’ weekly iTunes vote to a multiplier.

As of 10:45AM ET, the top eight “The Voice” recordings were positioned as follows:

2 – The Blower’s Daughter – Matt McAndrew
6 – Someone Like You – Damien

8- Royals – Taylor John Williams
14 – Sexual Healing – Chris Jamison
15 – Take it Easy – Craig Wayne Boyd
39 – These Dreams – DaNica Shirey
54 – Open Arms – Ryan Sill
59 – Holding Back the Years – Luke Wade

Update: By 2:45AM ET, Damien’s “Someone Like You” had joined Matt McAndrew’s “The Blower’s Daughter” in the top ten of the all-genre iTunes sales chart.

If their songs, which are currently positioned at #10 and #3, respectively, maintain their top ten positions through the close of voting at 12PM ET, the Team Adam contestants will receive iTunes multiplier bonuses.

On the verge of entry into the top ten is Team Gwen’s Taylor John Williams, whose “Royals” is #11. As of press time at 2:45AM ET, the top eight “The Voice” recordings were positioned as follows:

3 – The Blower’s Daughter – Matt McAndrew
10 – Someone Like You – Damien
11 – Royals – Taylor John Williams
14 – Take it Easy – Craig Wayne Boyd
15 – Sexual Healing – Chris Jamison
49 – These Dreams – DaNica Shirey
61 – Open Arms – Ryan Sill
63 – Holding Back the Years – Luke Wade

==========

For the third time in as many opportunities, “The Voice” will issue an iTunes multiplier bonus.

For the first time in three weeks of final competition rounds, it will likely award more than one.

By the time Monday’s “The Voice” performance show ended on the west coast, Team Adam contestant Matt McAndrew was already in position to receive a bonus. His powerful rendition of “The Blower’s Daughter” was up to #3 on the iTunes all-genre single sales chart. It will have no difficulty holding onto its top ten position through the close of voting at 12PM ET.

Two performances, meanwhile, are on the cusp of the top ten. “Someone Like You,” by McAndrew’s teammate Damien, is currently in possession of the #12 spot, while Team Gwen contestant Taylor John Williams holds #13 with “Royals.” Neither is yet in bonus territory, but with nine hours left in the voting period, it would be surprising if that scenario did not change.

And those three performances are not the only ones making waves. Craig Wayne Boyd, the last remaining Team Balke contestant, is up to #16 with “Take it Easy.” Team Adam’s Chris Jamison, meanwhile, claims #19 with “Sexual Healing” (or “Sexual Hearing,” if one goes by Carson Daly’s introduction).

Team Pharrell’s DaNica Shirey follows at #55 with “These Dreams,” while Team Gwen’s Ryan Sill holds #62 with “Open Arms.” Team Pharrell member Luke Wade brings up the rear this week with “Holding Back the Years” (#75).
