For the third consecutive week, Ed Sheeran’s ballad “Thinking Out Loud” ranks as the hot adult contemporary radio format’s most-added song.
After sharing honors with Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” two weeks ago, the song independently claimed most-added last week on the strength of 28 monitored adds. According to Mediabase, it again leads the add board — this time on the strength of 16 monitored pickups.
Already up to #21 on the format’s airplay chart, “Thinking Out Loud” is tracking like another big hot adult contemporary hit for the singer-songwriter. This new, hefty round of station adds certainly will not hinder the realization of that reality.
Ingrid Michaelson’s “Afterlife,” which closely follows at #22 on the rolling airplay chart, grabs the second-most-added distinction this week. It won support from 9 monitored stations.
Sheppard’s top 40 hit “Geronimo” follows with 8 adds, while Meghan Trainor’s “Lips are Movin” and Nick Jonas’ “Jealous” tie for fourth-most-added on the strength of 7 pickups each.
