Maroon 5’s “Animals” to Hit #1 at Pop Radio

Tove Lo’s “Habits” got as high as a song could get on the pop radio airplay chart, but it will unfortunately not stay that high.

Maroon 5’s surging “Animals” is due to overtake “Habits (Stay High)” for number one on this week’s Mediabase airplay chart.

Due Sunday evening, the chart will crown “Animals” the winner after a week in the hands of Tove Lo’s breakthrough hit. Prior to that Jessie J + Ariana Grande + Nicki Minaj’s “Bang Bang” ruled Mediabase’s version of the pop radio chart.

A one-week leader on Mediabase’s chart, “Habits” has spent two atop the Billboard Pop Songs chart. Based on current tracking, it is expected to also relinquish that particular throne to “Animals.”

In additio to “Animals,” “Habits” and “Bang Bang,” this week’s top five will also feature Ed Sheeran’s “Don’t” and Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off.”
