Maroon 5’s “Animals,” Ed Sheeran’s “Don’t” Hit Top 5 at Pop; Tove Lo Leads

Signposted by its mid-week rise to #1 on the rolling chart, Tove Lo’s “Habits (Stay High)” indeed claims the #1 spot on Mediabase’s official pop airplay chart.

The song, which already reached the apex of the Billboard Pop Songs chart, earns its Mediabase #1 on the strength of the 16,585 spins it received during the November 2-8 tracking period. The song usurps the throne from Jessie J + Ariana Grande + Nicki Minaj’s “Bang Bang,” which claims #2 in conjunction with its 14,811 weekly spins.

Hot on the rise is Maroon 5’s “Animals.” Expected to be the next #1 at pop radio, “Animals” rises four places to #3 on the strength of 14,719 weekly spins. Its monstrous week-over-week spin gain of 3,143 was, meanwhile, the format’s second-largest. Only Taylor Swift’s #16 “Blank Space” (+3,218 spins) is rising more quickly.

Ed Sheeran’s “Don’t” also enters the Top 5 this week. “Don’t,” which recently became Sheeran’s first Top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, reaches pop radio’s #5 thanks to the 12,294 spins it received this week.

Other movers:

— Ariana Grande and The Weeknd’s “Love Me Harder” and Sam Smith’s “I’m Not the Only One” reach the top 15 at #13 and #14, respectively.

— As previously reported, Swift’s “Blank Space,” Iggy Azalea’s “Beg for It (featuring MØ)” and Alesso’s “Heroes (we could be – featuring Tove Lo)” reach the Top 20 at #16, #18 and #20, respectively.

— Gwen Stefani’s “Baby Don’t Lie,” Meghan Trainor’s “Lips are Movin” and Hozier’s “Take Me to Church” reach the Top 25 at #22, #24 and #25, respectively.
