Milky Chance, Vance Joy Hop Into Top 50 at Pop Radio

Mediabase’s weekly airplay chart has gone official, and its Top 50 welcomes two alternative crossovers into the mix.

Milky Chance’s “Stolen Dance” and Vance Joy’s “Riptide,” which are already up to #18 and #19, respectively, on the hot adult contemporary airplay chart, claim the final two positions of this week’s pop Top 50.

“Stolen Dance” claims #49 on the strength of the 432 spins it received during the October 12-18 tracking period, while “Riptide” reaches #50 thanks to 421 spins.

The two counts best last week’s totals by 167 and 107 spins, respectively.

Prior to making noise at mainstream radio formats, both songs scored at alternative radio. Former #1 “Riptide” is now #2, while “Stolen Dance” continues to reign at #1 on the format.

Other noteworthy movers between #41 and #50 include Ella Henderson’s “Ghost” (#41, 996 spins, +112), Chris Brown’s “New Flame featuring Usher and Rick Ross” (#42, 888 spins, +226), Cobra Starship’s “Never Been in Love (featuring Icona Pop)” (#43, 758 spins, +106), Trey Songz’ “Touchin, Lovin (featuring Nicki Minaj)” (#46, 597 spins, +128) and Bea Miller’s “Young Blood” (#47, 551 spins, +107).
