Hozier’s “Take Me to Church” Rises on Sales Chart Following “SNL”

Hozier performs on "SNL"

24 hours have passed since Irish musician Hozier took the “Saturday Night Live” stage, and the impact of his performance can be witnessed on iTunes.

Prior to taking the “SNL” stage for the first time, Hozier’s breakthrough hit “Take Me to Church” was #23 on the all-genre iTunes Single Sales chart. As of press time, it is up to #11 on the chart.

The song, which steadily gained momentum Sunday, is currently selling 36% as quickly as Swift’s #1 “Shake it Off.”

Interest in “Angel of Small Death and the Codeine Scene,” the focus of Hozier’s second “SNL” performance, is considerably lighter. At press time, it was merely #175 on the single sales chart. Hozier is also represented at #183 by “Work Song.”

On track to sell about 55,000 first-week copies as of Thursday, Hozier’s self-titled album is currently #2 on the iTunes album sales chart.
