Ariana Grande, Charli XCX, MAGIC! Score at Pop Radio

Ariana Grande and The Weeknd perform "Love Me Harder"

Prior to 2014, no member was a consistently unavoidable pop radio attraction. But now that it has some of 2014’s biggest hits under their belts, the trio of Ariana Grande, Charli XCX and MAGIC! has no trouble eliciting the immediate attention of programmers.

While none scored support on par with the 69 monitored Mediabase adds earned by One Direction’s “Steal My Girl” this week, the new releases from Grande, Charli XCX and MAGIC! all successfully impacted the pop format.

Grande’s “Love Me Harder,” which is a duet with The Weeknd, bests all but the One Direction song this week. It scored 49 monitored adds in conjunction with its official impact.

Charli XCX’s “Break the Rules,” which is already #41 on the rolling airplay chart, also got off to a sizzling start. The follow-up to blockbuster “Boom Clap” scored support from 44 monitored stations this week. It ranks as the pop format’s third-most-added.

MAGIC!’s “Let Your Hair Down,” which follows an even bigger blockbuster in “Rude,” claims fourth-most-added with 35 adds.

David Guetta’s “Dangerous (featuring Sam Martin),” the week’s other big launch, earned a respectable 22 adds at pop. It registers as the week’s ninth-most-added track.
