Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” Stays #1 at Pop

Despite enduring a significant slowdown this week, Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” remains the biggest song on pop radio.

The tune, which is also #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, will spend a third consecutive week at #1 on Mediabase’s pop radio airplay chart.  That chart will not be officially published until Sunday evening, but the status of “All About That Bass” is not in question.

According to Mediabase, “Bass” garnered 17,704 spins during the September 28 – October 4 tracking period.  A gain of 119 over last week’s count, it keeps “Bass” ahead of Taylor Swift’s #2 “Shake it Off” by 713 spins.

With 115.52 million pop audience impressions during the tracking period, “Bass” also leads in that regard.  Iggy Azalea’s “Black Widow (featuring Rita Ora),” which is #3 for airplay, earned a second-best 108.01 million audience impressions between September 28 and October 4.  Swift’s song received 107.42 million.

“Bass,” meanwhile, emerges as the #2 song at Hot AC radio this week.  Swift’s “Shake it Off” holds #1 thanks to a spin count lead of 194.
