After an explosive first week of availability, Lorde’s new “Yellow Flicker Beat” debuts at #16 on Mediabase’s official alternative airplay chart.

The #16 bow, which was confirmed Sunday evening, comes as the result of 829 spins during the September 28-October 4 tracking period. That the song did not even emerge until the second day of that tracking period speaks volumes about alternative programmers’ excitement over the new track.

The recipient of 4.42 million impressions during the tracking period, “Beat” ranks as the format’s #12 song from an audience standpoint.

“Yellow Flicker Beat” appears on the soundtrack to “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1.” Lorde serves as the sole curator for the LP.
