Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” Returns to #1 on Sales Chart

After a week in the shadow of Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off,” Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” recaptures the top spot on the Billboard Digital Songs chart.

“Bass” reclaims #1 on the strength of 253,000 first-week sales.  While that total marks a 10% decline from last week’s mark, it nonetheless gives Meghan Trainor’s breakthrough tune a comfortable lead over Swift’s offering.

Responsible for 224,000 digital sales last week, Swift’s “Shake it Off” slips to the #2 position.  Its count is the product of a 24% decline.

Jessie J + Ariana Grande + Nicki Minaj’s “Bang Bang” holds at #3 on the strength of 125,000 sales.  Tove Lo’s “Habits (Stay High)” rises to a new peak of #4 (109,000), while Iggy Azalea’s “Black Widow (featuring Rita Ora)” dips to #5 (104,000).

Other top ten sellers: Jason Aldean’s “Tonight Looks Good on You” (#6, 90,000), Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” (#7, 89,000), Clean Bandit’s “Rather Be (featuring Jess Glynne)” (#8, 87,000), Jason Aldean’s “Burnin’ it Down” (#9, 77,000) and Kendrick Lamar’s “i” (#10, 76,000).
