Hot 100: Bobby Shmurda’s “Hot Boy” Goes Top 15, Kendrick Lamar Debuts

If you’ve been overlooking Bobby Shmurda’s “Hot Boy” (“Hot N*gga”), it’s time to take notice. The rapper’s debut single rises to #15 on this week’s Hot 100.

Up two places, the Hot 100 gain comes as the song maintains a strong presence on the sales and radio charts. As of press time, it was up to #37 on the iTunes all-genre sales chart, #7 on Mediabase’s rolling urban airplay chart and #30 on the rolling rhythmic chart.

The video, meanwhile, has attracted over 15 million YouTube views.

— Also on the Hot 100 this week: Kendrick Lamar’s “i” debuts at #39. The song, which begins the march towards the release of his third studio album, becomes his fourth top 40 hit as a lead artist.

The Grammy-nominated hip hop artist previously reached that portion of the Hot 100 with “Swimming Pools (Drank)” (#17), “Poetic Justice (featuring Drake)” (#26) and “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe” (#32).

He also landed in the Top 40 as a featured artist on A$AP Rocky’s “Fuckin’ Problems” (#8) and Robin Thicke’s “Give it 2 U” (#25).
