One Direction’s “Steal My Girl” Surges to #1 on Sales Chart

As if you did not see this headline coming from a mile away.

Thanks to an immense boost from pre-orders and an undeniably strong wave of initial interest, One Direction’s “Steal My Girl” quickly rocketed to #1 on the US iTunes Single Sales chart Monday*.

Owing clear inspiration to Journey’s “Faithfully,” the track finds One Direction once again injecting classic rock and adult contemporary flavors into its sound.

An effort to craft a broader, more sustainable identity for the five-piece act, the direction, as the quick surge to #1 proves, is not at all curbing the enthusiasm of the group’s core fanbase.

“Steal My Girl” is the lead single from One Direction’s forthcoming album “FOUR.”

It is also number one in a myriad of other countries.
