Maroon 5’s “Animals” Enters Top 40 at Pop

Nico and Vinz’ “In Your Arms” might have been pop radio’s most-added song this week, but Maroon 5’s “Animals” is claiming an early advantage in the airplay race.

The follow-up to the band’s “Maps” is already one of the format’s Top 40 songs.

According to Mediabase, the tune’s play count of 1,192 was the format’s 36th-largest during the seven day period between September 19 and 25. Its audience impression count of 9.08 million ranks at an even more impressive #29.

If “Animals” maintains its current rate of growth over the next two days, it could enter the Top 30 for airplay and flirt with the Top 25 for audience.

— No slouch, the aforementioned “In Your Arms” was pop’s 45th-most-played song between September 19 and 25.
