Hot 100: “All About That Bass” Widens Lead Over “Shake it Off”

Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off” might have recaptured the #1 spot on Billboard’s Digital Songs chart, but Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” remains the song to beat on the Hot 100.

The body empowerment anthem enjoys a third week atop Billboard’s all-encompassing chart. It falls to #2 on the Digital Songs subchart but rises to the peak position on Radio Songs. It, meanwhile, maintains its top spot on the Streaming Songs and On-Demand Songs charts.

Despite emerging as the week’s Top Airplay Gainer and best-selling single, “Shake it Off” actually lost 7 percentage points on the overall Hot 100 breakdown. Since “Bass” only lost 2 percentage points, it possesses a wider lead this week than it did last week.

Other top five songs include Jessie J + Ariana Grande + Nicki Minaj’s “Bang Bang” (#3), Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” (#4) and Iggy Azalea’s “Black Widow (featuring Rita Ora)” (#5).
