The Pretty Reckless’ “Messed Up World” is Officially #1 at Rock (Updated)

Update: As expected, The Pretty Reckless’ “Messed Up World” complements its #1 position on Mediabase’s active rock chart with a return to #1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Songs listing.

Linkin Park’s “Until it’s Gone” led both charts last week.

Late last week, Linkin Park’s “Until it’s Gone” charged past The Pretty Reckless’ “Messed Up World” to claim #1 on the official edition of Mediabase’s active rock airplay chart.

This week, the TPR song returned the favor.

“Messed Up World,” the follow-up to The Pretty Reckless’ multi-week #1 “Heaven Knows” officially claims the #1 position at active rock radio.

The recipient of 1,727 spins during the September 7-13 tracking period, “Messed Up World” tops “Until it’s Gone” on Mediabase’s chart. The latter song was played 1,619 times within the September 7-13 window.

“Messed Up World” also claimed active rock’s largest audience this week. Its weekly impression count of 4.57 million bested the 4.24 drawn by “Until it’s Gone.”

If that audience advantage also exists in Billboard’s data, it could send “Messed Up World” back to the top of that publication’s comparable Mainstream Rock Songs chart. TPR reigned there two weeks ago before ceding its position to “Until it’s Gone” last week.

Other top five active rock songs this week included Nothing More’s #3 “This is the Time (Ballast),” You Me at Six’s “Room to Breathe” (#4) and Rise Against’s “I Don’t Want to be Here Anymore” (#5).
