First Look: Barbra Streisand Appears on “The Tonight Show”

Aware that variety is beneficial from a marketing standpoint and from an entertainment standpoint, networks typically confirm several guests for their late night talk shows.

If, however, a solitary individual were to emerge with enough name value, narrative impact and performing ability to compensate for the lack of variety, a network might feel justified in breaking with protocol.

In slating entertainer Barbra Streisand for Monday’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” NBC believes it found a solitary individual of that caliber.

Streisand, who is making her first US late night talk show appearance in over fifty years, is the only advertised guest for Monday’s edition of the iconic series.

Appearing in support of her new “Partners” duets album, Streisand assumes the spotlight for a considerable portion of Monday’s episode.
