Ratings: “Rising Star” Improves Slightly for Finale

Lacking buzz and facing competition from MTV’s annual Video Music Awards ceremony, ABC’s “Rising Star” did not have a prayer of scoring a big rating for its season (and perhaps series) finale.

It did not do so.

It did, however, enjoy an increase over last week’s showing. Sunday’s hourlong broadcast, which revealed Jesse Kinch as the inaugural winner, posted a 0.9 adults 18-49 rating with 3.20 million viewers.

Both figures were up from last week’s corresponding, preliminary numbers. That episode posted a 0.8 with 3.14 million on the fast nationals; it ended with a 0.8 and 3.22 million viewers in the final Nielsen report.
