Ariana Grande’s “Best Mistake” Sales Reach 104K

Neither an official single nor the recipient of a televised promotional piece, Ariana Grande’s “Best Mistake (featuring Big Sean)” had no prayer of debuting atop Billboard’s Digital Songs chart.

It did, however, rank as the week’s best-selling debut. It also assisted Grande in setting a chart record.

With sales of 104,000, “Best Mistake” lands at #6 on Billboard’s weekly Digital Songs chart. It shares a presence in the Top 6 with two other Grande songs–her “Bang Bang” collaboration with Jessie J and Nicki Minaj (131,000, #2) and “Break Free (featuring Zedd)” (116,000, #4).

No female artist has ever simultaneously occupied three spots within the Top 6 of the Digital Songs chart. And no artist of either gender has done so since Michael Jackson posthumously achieved the feat in July 2009.

Along with “Break Free,” “Bang Bang” (on the deluxe edition) and former digital sales #1 “Problem,” “Best Mistake” appears on Ariana Grande’s sophomore album “My Everything.”
