Nico and Vinz Reveal Cover for “Black Star Elephant” Album

With its breakthrough hit “Am I Wrong” finally starting to slow, Norwegian duo Nico and Vinz is now turning attention to its forthcoming studio album “Black Star Elephant.”

To accelerate growth in anticipation, the duo posted the cover art for the new album late Thursday evening.

“No words can describe the joy and relief we feel when presenting this to you guys,” wrote the duo in a Facebook post. “With the illustrated cover art, we wanted to keep playing on the silhouette concept from the “Am I Wrong” single cover, as well as bring the Black Star Elephant to life.”

Elaborating on the “Black Star Elephant” name, the duo explained that it pays tribute to their parents’ nationalities.

“Vinz’s parents are from Ghana, and the Ghanians often call themselves the Black Stars. Nico has mother from Norway and a father from Ivory Coast, and the Ivorians often call themselves the Elephants,” added one of the year’s most successful new pop acts.

“Black Star Elephant,” the duo’s first global release–and first album whatsoever under its current name (it previously performed as Envy)–is due to arrive this year.
