Hot 100: “Bang Bang,” “All About That Bass” Go Top 10

The week’s two best-selling singles also made major splashes on the weekly Billboard Hot 100.

Jessie J + Ariana Grande + Nicki Minaj’s “Bang Bang,” which was the week’s top seller, flies into the Hot 100 at #6. It follows Grande’s own “Problem (featuring Iggy Azalea)” as the best Hot 100 debut of 2014.

That song, which launched in late April/early May, debuted at #3 on the chart before eventually peaking at #2.

The #6 mark for “Bang Bang” ties a career high for Jessie J, who also reached that position with “Domino.” It, meanwhile, represents Nicki Minaj’s tenth career Top 10.

Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” also makes a colossal move on the Hot 100. After cruising into the Top 40 last week at #28, the song advances another 20 places to reach #8 on this week’s edition.

With 169,000 paid downloads, it was last week’s #2 track on the Digital Songs chart. It is currently pacing to land at #1 on that chart this week.
