Sam Smith Reveals “I’m Not the Only One” as New Single

Neither his breakthrough solo effort “Stay With Me” nor hit Disclosure collaboration “Latch” is done rising, but Sam Smith is already shifting attention to his next single.

The buzzworthy singer-songwriter, who most consider a lock to contend for key awards at the 2015 Grammys, announced Monday that “I’m Not the Only One” will be released as the next single from his hot-selling “In the Lonely Hour.”

Smith was to debut the track on BBC Radio 1 Monday evening. Its debut as an official iTunes Single is slated for August 31.

It is unclear when “I’m Not the Only One” will hit US radio, but there is no overt reason to rush. “Stay With Me,” which reached the Top 5 at pop this past week, remains the format’s third-greatest airplay gainer. It will reach #4 on Mediabase’s airplay chart this week, and an ascent into the Top 3 remains very possible.

“Stay With Me” is also the #3 song on Hot AC Radio and #1 on AAA.
