“Orphan Black” Renewed for Season 3; 10 More Episodes Coming

BBC America officially announced that “Orphan Black” will return for a third season.

Set to air next year, the 10-episode third season will continue the show’s buzzworthy narrative. When it concluded the second season, lead character Sarah Manning–and the show’s viewers–had become aware of a male clone project that had been running in isolation from the female one that produced the characters played by Maslany.

While ratings for the second season of “Orphan Black” did not necessarily reflect the vast hype surrounding the show, they did enjoy significant improvement from the show’s first season numbers. According to BBC America, the second season’s live+7 ratings averages in adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 double those posted by the inaugural season.

The season finale attracted 1.376 million live+7 viewers.
