The CW’s “Reign,” “Vampire Diaries” Return on October 2

The CW announced Wednesday that returning Thursday dramas “The Vampire Diaries” and “Reign” will usher in the 2014-15 season on October 2.

Marking the first original, scripted programming to air on The CW this fall, the dramas commence their respective sixth and second seasons on that evening.

Earlier that week, The CW will dedicated two nights to the iHeartRadio Festival and one night to encore “Arrow” broadcasts.

“The Originals,” “The Flash,” “Supernatural” and “Arrow” commence operations the following week, while “Jane the Virgin,” “America’s Next Top Model” and “The 100” bow later in October.
