Austin Mahone’s “The Secret” Album Sales Pacing for 50-55K

While Austin Mahone’s “The Secret” scored the early lead on the iTunes Album Sales chart, its overall debut sales count will trail that of Mariah Carey’s fellow newcomer “Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse.”

According to Hits Daily Double’s very preliminary estimates, the Mahone EP is pacing for a debut week in the 50-55,000 range. If that holds, it will fall short of the 65-70,000 expected of Carey’s “Chanteuse.”

Insofar as the Memorial Day holiday might have stunted opening day sales on Tuesday, Hits Daily Double advises that both estimates could be subject to upward adjustments.

Cher Lloyd’s “Sorry I’m Late,” the week’s other notable release, is tracking for an opening in the 17-20,000 range.
