Vance Joy, Joywave Enjoy Big Weeks at Alternative Radio

Those alternative acts with “Joy” in their names can officially jump for joy.

According to Mediabase, songs from Vance Joy and Joywave were the most-added tracks at the alternative radio format this week.

Vance Joy’s “Riptide,” which was one of alternative’s greatest airplay gainers going into the week, led the charge with 12 station adds. Joywave’s “Tongues” followed with a healthy 9 station pickups.

In addition to scoring adds for its own song, Joywave also enjoyed a successful week as part of Big Data’s “Dangerous.” The buzzworthy alt track landed at seven new stations this week.

Coldplay’s “A Sky Full of Stars” and Linkin Park’s “Until It’s Gone” also received seven alternative radio adds.

Other notable receptions came for Dirty Heads’ erupting “My Sweet Summer” (6 adds), Lorde’s “Tennis Court” (6 adds), MAGIC!’s “Rude” (5 adds), Milky Chance’s “Stolen Dance” (5 adds) and Tove Lo’s “Habits (Stay High)” (5 adds).
